IKEA Wonderful Everyday Life Set 3
Wild, free, untamed, natural, native, galant, tenacious, adventurous, radical…. How would you describe your life? Have you taken risks, stepped out of your comfort zone or howled in broad daylight?
“What if you wake up some day, and you’re 65, or 75, and you never got your memoir or novel written; or you didn’t go swimming in the warm pools and oceans all those years because your thighs were jiggly and you had a nice big comfortable tummy; or you were just so strung out on perfectionism and people-pleasing that you forgot to have a big juicy creative life, of imagination and radical silliness and staring off into space like when you were a kid? Its going to break your heart. Don’t let this happen.” – Anne Lamott
That moment when Jettel takes of her top to carry the pot in the movie “Nowhere in Africa” grips all the strength it takes to accept your own being and of those in our lives, as we are, free to just be. In the IKEA “Wonderful Everyday Life” the couple experiences stillness, pure joy and presence within simple moments of life, they give themselves into each experience fully.
Working on this project has made me look at my life back from when I am in my 80’s and see the flashes of it in a 2 minute movie. What memories would I edit into it, how would I feel after watching this short version of my life? Did I live how I wanted to, did I make the mistakes, take the risks, jump into the deepest lake that my life is and recover all its treasures, did I surface laughing or crying like a child? In the end, we are the writers, directors, the spectators and the critics of our life. Make it count.
