Uprising – local hot blogs to follow

I love a good book, traveling, fresh produce, cheesecake from Imhoff Farm, Jiva Spa Indian Therapy , LP’s, a long walk in nature and recently developed an interest in local blogs.

I have lived in Africa over 20 years now and keep finding many small and hidden treasures through my line of work. I have photographed places untouched, been in the crossfire of the 90’s Natal uprisings, tasted coconut milk under the tree it came from, had inspiring conversations about changing lives of future generations through eco systems, sat with tribal members around a fire under the open skyes.

All the politics aside, things are changing with each new child born. I find Africa, its places and its people inspiring. There is a new wave of youth rising up to say “local is lekker” and choosing to live consciously! We have a beautiful land, creative people, innovators, healthy food, gorgeous woman, top surfers, eco systems falling into place and some great home brewed beer and wine to go with it all. People are waking up and changing lives. Take a look at all the NGO’s that are rising fast, youth are helping youth, planting forests, growing edible gardens, cleaning up our oceans and saving animals.

And some awesome local blogs have been on the rise, African people are finding their voice and they choose to enjoy whats here all around us. Take good care of your self, take pride in where you live, let it start with you. Support local.
